SSpeedReader

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

This policy explains what SpeedReader collects and why. We keep it deliberately small: the service needs only enough data to sign you in and remember what you are reading.

Account

You sign in with Google. We store your email address, display name, and a user identifier provided by Google sign-in. We never see or store your Google password.

Reading data

To resume where you left off and show your stats, we store your reading position, words-read totals, bookmarks, shelf flags (read later, finished, favorite), and your preferred reading speed. This data is tied to your account and is not sold or shared.

Uploads

PDFs you upload are stored so they can be processed and read. They are private to your account unless you are an administrator publishing to the public library. You can delete an uploaded book at any time from its detail page, which removes it and its extracted text.

Cookies & local storage

We use the storage required for authentication and to remember interface preferences (such as cover style). The site may display advertising in reserved slots; any ad provider used is disclosed here when active.
